At Liberty Craft, my journey into woodworking and custom home decor began as a shared dream with my husband. It was a vision of crafting something with our hands, our minds, and our hearts, while spending more quality time together as a family on our beloved farm.
This venture isn't just about work; it's about nurturing something our kids can embrace and being closer to the place we call home, rather than spending our days in an office.
What I find truly enchanting in woodworking is the transformation. It's the magic of turning a simple flat piece of wood into something that bursts with color, meaning, and heart. While I'm still exploring various styles and techniques, my love affair with the CNC machine is undeniable. I enjoy pushing its boundaries with different cutting toolpaths and discovering the unique character of real wood for our projects.
One of the projects that deeply resonated with me was a custom shadow box we crafted for a retiring military hero. The design was ingeniously inspired by my husband, making it easy to change layouts, and the result was nothing short of spectacular. Meaningful projects like this touch my heart and remind me of the profound impact our work can have.
Balancing our budding business, the joys of raising our little one, and the demands of farm life isn't easy. But it's a journey we're embracing with open hearts and unwavering determination. With my background in business, marketing, branding, and customer experience, I'm excited to bridge the gap between our vision and the dreams of our clients. My journey into the world of CNC woodworking began with a spark of curiosity and a passion for design. I had the privilege of exploring this exciting field during my time with a previous employer, where I discovered the boundless potential of marrying art with engineering.
The idea of creating something entirely our own, together with my wife and partner Jordan, was too compelling to resist. We saw it as an opportunity not only for ourselves but also for our growing family.
With an empty workshop waiting to be brought to life, woodworking emerged as the perfect fit. But it's just the beginning of our creative journey, as we aspire to expand into other artistic realms.
What I find most exhilarating in woodworking is the freedom it offers. It's a canvas where I can create without the constraints of rules or directives from a boss.
I relish the ability to craft designs that defy expectations and redefine initial project visions, providing our clients with something beyond their wildest imaginings.
I have a master's degree in structural engineering and a background in engineering, architecture, design, and art. From that, I've developed a deep sense of perfectionism. I'm committed to researching tirelessly, always seeking the best possible methods and solutions. If I can't find an existing approach, I'll innovate and invent to ensure we reach the pinnacle of design and problem-solving.
Every project is a thrilling challenge for me. I see opportunities to enhance our clients' initial requests, adding a layer of innovation that I know they'll appreciate. Beyond client projects, I revel in the opportunity to create our own custom product lines, starting from scratch, and bringing our unique visions to life.
Starting our own business was driven by the desire for more time to explore our diverse interests. While we work diligently to support our family and farm, I make sure to carve out moments for my other passions, whether it's soccer, nurturing our land, planning landscaping projects, or simply spending cherished time with my family and our beloved animals.
I'm originally from northeast China, and in that fiercely competitive environment, I learned the value of hard work, strategic thinking, and continuous self-improvement. It's a mindset I carry with me daily, challenging my ideas, assumptions, and beliefs to continually outwork and out design the competition.
The core of our business goes beyond woodworking; it's about elevating the entire design experience. Our work has the power to enhance user experiences, improve efficiency, and transform how people perceive the objects in their world.
